Tech Help & Adult Craft Workshop at the Carrabelle Library

The Friends of the Franklin County Public Libraries (FFCPL) announces a month of creative, engaging, and relaxed programs at the Franklin County Public Libraries. All programs are free and open to the public with no library card required.  Please note: both branches will be closing at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 26 for staff development. 

Tech Help sessions will return on Tuesday, August 18 at 11 am at the Carrabelle Branch. Patrons may receive one-on-one assistance with devices, email, digital resources, and more. No registration is required; drop-ins are welcome.

Adult Crafternoon: Puffer Fish Painting is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, at 2:30 pm at the Carrabelle Branch. Adults are invited to this hands-on craft workshop where participants can unleash their creativity and explore new artistic techniques. Space is limited to 12 participants, so pre-registration is strongly recommended to reserve a spot. The program is free, with all supplies provided. No experience is necessary—just a passion for creating.

Also at the Eastpoint Library this week:

Mahjong Club meets for open play Tuesday, August 18 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Eastpoint Branch. All players are invited to join in the fun.

The Writer’s Forum meets on Wednesday, August 19 at 1 pm at the Eastpoint Branch. Attendees are welcome to share their work, get inspired, and connect with fellow writers. Writers of all genres and experience levels are invited.

A Plant Identification For Beginners program will be held Friday, August 21 from 4-5 pm at the Eastpoint Branch, presented by the Florida Forest Service. Participants will learn about the region’s native forests and what depends on them with area forester Genevieve Sasnett. Guests will discover host plants, discuss plant survival tactics, identify plants to avoid, learn about common uses for trees, and leave with their own herbarium created from samples that they collect.
