St. George Island

St. George Island

St. George Island, a 22-mile long and one mile wide barrier island with bridge access, is just twenty minutes west of Carrabelle. Here you will find uncrowded, natural sugar white sand beaches and rolling dunes free from high rises and traffic. You may want to spend your time shelling or just soaking up some rays.  The beaches are pet-friendly.

The Island also offers many opportunities for vacation fun including:  kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, and sailboat rentals.  Gaze at the stars in our magnificent sky, unobstructed by the glare of city lights.  On the bayside, enjoy awe-inspiring sunsets.  Bring or rent bicycles and enjoy the Island’s 6.3 mile bike path, from 12th Street West to the State Park.  Oh- and don’t forget – great shopping and restaurants!  A perfect place for some family fun!

The Dr. Julian G. Bruce State Park is located at the eastern end of the Island, or you may want to climb to the top of the restored Cape St. George Lighthouse and take in the breathtaking view.
