Dog Island & The Nature Conservancy

Dog Island & The Nature Conservancy

Dog Island is a privately owned small and remote barrier island accessible by water-taxi or boat. There are no public land or amenities on the island, however, you may wish to walk the beachfronts, but be prepared to bring everything you may need with you.

Located offshore from Carrabelle, the island is the eastern-most part of a chain of barrier islands that shelter the Apalachicola Bay and St. George sound.  (Four Islands:  Dog Island, St. George Island, Little St. George Island, & St. Vincent)

The Nature Conservancy owns most of the Island, about 100 residents call it home and appreciate visitors respecting their privacy and property. For more information click here. For a bit of history click here.
