SUMMARY:Carrabelle: Egyptian Jewelry Making and Ribbon Wand Craft
DESCRIPTION:Unearth a Week of Adventure with the Summer Reading Program  \nThe 2026 Summer Reading Program\, “Unearth a Story\,” returns June 28–July 4 at the Franklin County Public Libraries with a variety of free activities for all ages. The week’s programs will explore stories\, science\, history\, and creativity through interactive experiences inspired by archaeology\, dinosaurs\, fossils\, ancient civilizations\, earth science\, and America 250. Designed to spark curiosity\, inspire exploration\, promote literacy\, and encourage community engagement\, all programs are open to the public with no library card required. \nIn addition\, both branches will host a Summer Reading Challenge\, America 250 activities and interactive displays including opportunities to track reading goals\, attend programs\, and earn prizes\, participate in patriotic crafts or coloring stations\, pick up a pocket Constitution and Declaration of Independence\, and enjoy archaeology\, dinosaurs\, fossils\, and exploration themed decorations. \nWeek Three (June 28-July 4) at Carrabelle\n\nMonday\, June 29 – Egyptian Jewelry Making at the Carrabelle Branch at 2 PM. Participants will create wearable art inspired by ancient civilizations using beads\, charms\, and decorative materials. This creative program blends history\, culture\, and hands-on crafting.\nThursday\, July 2 – Ribbon Wand Craft at the Carrabelle Branch at 2 PM. Participants will create festive ribbon wands inspired by patriotic celebrations and summer parades as part of the library’s America 250 programming.\n\nPlease note: Friday\, July 3rd and Saturday\, July 4th – Holiday Closure at both branches. The Franklin County Public Libraries will be closed in honor of the Independence Day holiday. \nAlso at Eastpoint \n\nTuesday\, June 30 – Mahjong Club Open Play at the Eastpoint Branch from 1 PM to 4 PM. All players are invited to join in the fun every Tuesday.\nWednesday\, July 1 – DIY American Flags at the Eastpoint Branch at 2 PM. In celebration of America 250\, participants will create patriotic American flags using fabric\, paint\, and mixed media materials. This program highlights creativity\, history\, and civic pride.\n\nSummer Reading is an annual program that brings children\, teens\, and families to local public libraries for reading and activities.
