The Crooked River Lighthouse is located at 1975 Hwy 98 West\, Carrabelle\, FL. \nThe Country Market\, held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm ET\, at the foot of Carrabelle’s historic lighthouse\, is the perfect opportunity to shop for unique items while supporting local vendors\, artists\, bakers\, artisans and crafters. The Market features an ever changing variety of locally sourced and handcrafted goods. Shoppers might find organic farm-fresh produce\, mouth watering cinnamon rolls\, artisan breads and other baked goods\, grass-fed beef\, handmade goods and craft items\, assorted jellies\, stunning art and decor\, fresh eggs\, batch-roasted coffee\, locally handmade jewelry\, handcrafted balms and sprays\, unique t-shirts and clothing\, and homemade hot sauces and salsa.  \nAt this special market\, guests are invited to unleash their creativity at a fun and relaxing Paint Party from 12:30-3:30 pm ET with talented artist Geri Mueller-Savell. Supplies will be provided\, including a 16×20 or 11×14 canvas\, apron\, paint\, and brushes. Geri will give encouraging step-by-step guidance through a featured painting\, ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable experience and leaves with their very own masterpiece. No prior experience is needed. The cost is $45 per person\, and seating is limited. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling 448-241-0086.  \nWhile at the lighthouse\, guests can also explore the free Keeper’s House Museum and Gift Shop from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET. The Keeper’s House features fascinating maritime history\, including the lighthouse’s original historic Fresnel lens. The Gift Shop is filled with handcrafted items and jewelry to one-of-a-kind nautical and coastal art\, souvenirs and keepsakes. For an unforgettable experience\, visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking panoramic view of St. George Sound for a small fee. \nThe Country Markets are held every 1st and 3rd Saturdays and are actively recruiting new and returning vendors. SUMMARY:Special Exhibit: Remembering the Holocaust
DESCRIPTION:Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum in Carrabelle is presenting an exhibit to remember the Holocaust\, Hitler’s program to commit genocide against those he deemed unworthy\, especially Europe’s Jews.  This exhibit will open on Tuesday\, April 1 and be on display at the museum until Saturday\, May 3.  The museum is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. There is no charge for admission\, but donations are gladly accepted.   \nBeginning in 1933\, the German Government established prison\, labor\, concentration\, and extermination camps throughout their territories\, including in countries they occupied before and during the war. Groups that were arrested and detained included Roma\, Communists\, Jehovah’s Witnesses\, homosexuals\, the disabled and especially Jews. Some 12 million people perished in the more than 44\,000 facilities\, ghettos and killing fields across Europe\, including 6 million Jews. The Museum acknowledges the need for all citizens to understand this dark period of history\, what caused it\, who perpetrated it\, and how some resisted and fought their captors. Eyewitnesses such as survivors and the soldiers that liberated these camps are aging and dying\, but many have told their stories. Visitors are invited to come see this sobering exhibit\, and help our society remember those that were victims of atrocity\, prejudice\, and hate.  \nThe internationally recognized date for Holocaust Remembrance Day corresponds to the 27th day of Nisan on the Hebrew calendar and it marks the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising which started on April 19\, 1943. In Hebrew\, Holocaust Remembrance Day is called Yom Hashoah. In 2025\, Yom HaShoah will be recognized beginning at sunset on the evening of Wednesday\, April 23 – Thursday\, April 24. \nCamp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum is located in Carrabelle\, directly across from Carrabelle Public Beach Park at 1873 Hwy 98 West.
