SUMMARY:STEM\, Storytime and Writers Forum at Eastpoint Library
DESCRIPTION: The Friends of the Franklin County Public Libraries (FFCPL) are inviting community members and visitors to a variety of fun and educational events. These programs offer enriching experiences for children\, teens\, and adults\, fostering creativity\, learning\, and connection in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Best of all\, every event is free and open to all—no library card required! \nSTEM Space: Lemon Batteries \nSTEM Space at the library provides an interactive environment for exploring Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Math. In January\, participants will get to make Lemon Batteries\, an engaging way to explore basic scientific concepts and have fun with a hands-on activity. This month’s book\, Dream Big by Kat Kronenberg\, tells the story of Caterpillar\, Tadpole\, and Flamingo who wish upon a star for their wildest dreams despite Baboon’s doubts. But when he sees Caterpillar\, Tadpole\, and Flamingo transformed\, Baboon realizes that magic exists. SUMMARY:Special Exhibit: Nuremberg & War Crime Trials
DESCRIPTION:Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum in Carrabelle is presenting a special exhibit for the month of January on the War Crime Trials of German military and government members\, of which the Nuremberg Trials are the most well known. This exhibit will open Tuesday\, January 7\, 2025 and will be on display at the museum until Saturday\, February 1. The museum is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm and there is no charge for admission. \nFrom November 1945 to October 1946 high ranking members of the German military and government were prosecuted for war crimes and crimes committed against humanity stemming from their actions before and during WWII. During the month of January the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum will present an exhibit about the trials\, covering some of the more notorious defendants such as Hess\, Göring\, Döring\, Jodl and Keitel; the prosecutors\, the charges and the verdicts. The exhibit will include some WWII artifacts whose origin and path to the museum remain shrouded in mystery. \nCamp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum is located in Carrabelle\, directly across from Carrabelle Public Beach Park at 1873 Hwy 98 West.
