The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will host their Grand Opening Celebation of the new Chapter headquarters facility on March 15 at 11 a.m. The 20,000 square foot facility, located at 1115 Easterwood Drive, will officially dedicate their new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours, demonstrations, and a luch reception. For over thirty years, the Annual Panacea Blue Crab Festival is one of the largest such festivals on Florida's northern Gulf Coast. The festivities begin with a morning parade on the Coastal Highway 98. Carrabelle Big Bend Fishing Tournament Largest non-profit saltwater fishing tournament (700-900 competitors) in Northwest Florida. Father's Day Weekend Thousands in prizes and cash. Adult & youth divisions. Individual and team competition. The Classic may be the fastest growing tournament in Florida, if not the entire Southeast. Since its first year (1989), participation in the Classic has jumped nearly 375 percent. The Florida Seafood Festival is the State's Oldest Maritime Exhibit. The two day event annually draws thousands of visitors to this scenic historic town at the mouth of the Apalachicola River. The festival features seafood, arts and crafts exhibits, seafood related events and displays under the shady oaks of Apalachicola's Battery Park. Some of the notable events include oyster eating, oyster shucking, a parade, a 5k Redfish Run and a Blessing of the Fleet.
