Franklin County Beaches Remain Unaffected; Watchful Monitoring, Preparation Underway
Currently, there are no impacts to Franklin County’s tidal shoreline beaches.
Franklin County tourism officials and their partners in the tourism community say they are grateful for the support, concern and offers to help from people across the country in the wake of the recent Louisiana Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. The main thing many of them are saying this week is "our beaches and seafood remain okay - come visit and support what you love."

Is the oil spill going to affect the Carrabelle area?
The oil spill has not impacted our beaches. Wind and current conditions are keeping the oil spill away from Florida’s coastline. We do not have a forecast beyond the next 48 hours.

Yes, our beaches are open and the water is fine. Right now, our beaches and our water are beautiful.

Right now, everything is open, and it’s business - and pleasure - as usual. We have not been impacted by the oil spill. We will know more information later this week and don’t have a forecast beyond the next 48 hours. We wish we could give you a more definite answer, but the best we can do is update you with what we find out daily.
